Week of February 6, 2017

During our literacy block we will continue to read books about money, focusing this week on ways we can earn money.  We will continue to write our stories about a need and a want that we have.

During math we will continue to work on  number stories and comparing numbers.  We also continue to practice writing our numbers 1-20 with no reversals.

We are continuing to explore wood and the various types of wood and how wood reacts with water.

We will be celebrating our 100th day of school on Thursday, February 9th.

Our words this week are:

           come, up

To prepare for our upcoming Kindergarten Career Day in March, (more information is coming) we would like to invite any parent who would like to speak about their job - why it is important, tools or skills you need, into the classroom.  Please contact me if you are interested.  Presentations will be held February 6-March 1.  The best time would be 1:10-1:30.  Please let me know if you are interested, and I will try to accommodate your schedule.  Thank you.

REMINDER
Please keep practicing sight words, counting to 100 and writing numbers 1-20.  Read every night and talk about the stories.

Journal writing for morning work.

Gia was our star student and did journal sharing.

Indoor playtime is fun too!
