Week of May 29, 2018

TUESDAY, MAY 29TH IS OUR FIELD DAY AND END OF  YEAR PICNIC!

This week we will continue our animal unit and read and write about mammals.  We also are continuing our study of chicks and watching our eggs.

We continue to work on our writing.  We need to check our writing for upper case letters and punctuation marks at the end of a sentence.  We need to check for labeling in our pictures.

In math we continue to play some dice roll games as we practice addition and subtraction.  We continue to practice counting to 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's.  We are comparing numbers and solving number problems.

Week of May 21, 2018

This week we will continue our "Animal Unit".  We will learn about classifying animals.  We will focus on mammals this week.  We will read books and write facts learned.

We will be writing stories with a beginning, middle and end.

In  math we will be working with counting, comparing numbers and number sentences.

We will continue to work on some special projects.

REMINDERS:

Wednesday, May 23rd is an early dismissal day.

Friday is Dad or Special Someone Day.  Please bring a snack for your child at 1:30 and we will have snack and do a special project.

Week of May 14, 2018

This week we will start our "Animal Unit".  We will begin by talking about living and non-living things and the characteristics of each.  We will write facts learned.

We will also be writing and illustrating stories with a beginning, middle and end.

We will read stories and talk about the emotion for the month of May - embarrassment.

Our words of the week are:  (color words) red, blue, green, brown, orange, yellow, black, gray, white and pink.

Career Day was a lot of fun and a huge thank you to all parents for their support and help.

May 7, 2018

This week we will read stories and work on retelling - characters, setting, beginning, middle and end. We are practicing our career day presentations as well.  We are also working on finishing up our class reports about our careers.

In math we are graphing and comparing numbers and writing number sentences.  We continue to practice counting to 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's.

We are continuing our spring projects.

We had a great trip to the Wolf Conservation Center and learned a lot about wolves.
