March 26, 2018

This week we will be finishing up our fairy tale unit.  We will do some special activities - and write about our favorite fairy tale.

In math we  will continue with shapes and number stories - both addition and subtraction and writing the number sentences.

We are continuing to talk about spring and chart spring activities and words.

We will continue to work with compound words this week.

REMINDERS:
Wednesday, March 28th is an early dismissal day.

There is no school on Friday, March 30th.

Indoor recess is fun too - enjoying friends!

Week of March 19, 2018

This week we will continue our fairy tale unit.  We will read "The Three Billy Goats Fluff" and compare and contrast with "The Three Billy Goats Gruff".  We will also act out "The Three Billy Goats Gruff".  We will read a couple of other fairy tales this week as well including - Henny Penny, and The Ugly Duckling.

We are finishing up our class fairy tale and adding some of our own details to the story.  The children have really been working hard and are so excited to share the story.

In math this week we will continue to talk about 2D and 3D shapes and finding shapes in our world.  We will also work with addition and subtraction number sentences.

This week our words are:  day, dog, be

We also will talk about compound words this week.

Week of March 5, 2018

This week we will continue our fairy tale unit.  We will read "Cinderella" this week since we spent a lot of time with Dr. Seuss and finishing up Black History last week.  We will compare and contrast several versions of "Cinderella".  We also will read "Three Billy Goats Gruff."

We are continuing to write and edit our class fairy tale this week.

In math we will work with shapes, tally marks, height and we will do some subtraction number stories.

We will read some books about our emotion of the month:  "worry".

Our words of the week are:  how, her, but.

REMINDERS:
Report cards will go home on Friday, March 9th.  Conference notices went home.  Please return them confirming or giving an alternate date.

Please sign the report card envelope and return it next Monday.



We had two Stamford Police Officers come in and read a Dr. Seuss story to us Friday morning.  
We celebrated earning our paws with a pajama day and bring a stuffed animal to school.  It was
a fun day!

We also made hats to celebrate "Read Across America" and Dr. Seuss.
